Girls Deserve Education

Since the collapse of Somalia’s central government, not only the security has gone, but also the public services were missing during the last two decades, including education for the children.

Since then, Educational umbrellas and NGO’s where supporting the educational system of the country to fill the gap of the government and it begun to grow rapidly.

The overall children in schools are very low with girls in schools are small in number compared to boys.

Overall school enrollment over the last eight years, only 710,860 children out of an estimated 1.7 million of primary school age children – 42 per cent of children – are in school. Of those at school, 36 per cent are girls,

The number of female students in Universities is also very little compared to male students
